As usual, with O'Bien the action is fast and the story is solid. I like the way that Ben Bridges works culture and geopgraphy into his stories like Louis Lamour. After Lamour, he's become my favorite western writer.
I don't remember what the story was about, but all the Carter O'brian stories were great. I can't say anything bad. They keep you wanting not to stop reading. I've read the whole series.
I really enjoy the O'Brien series by Ben Bridges. I identify with the hero and admire his courage, etc. The story line keeps one interested, and the writing is excellent. Bridges has turned me into an avid reader of westerns. I will be reading many more.
I not only thought the story line was great, but I also enjoyed the writing style of this author. Some Westerns place you in a location or event, or move you from one place to another in a drab and nondescript form. This author adds color, texture and depth to the narrative making you feel like you are actually standing next to the characters....seeing what they are seeing, and feeling what they are feeling. I will definitely be reading more of his works.
This was a very good book, it kept me interested all the way thru the book, and for the price you can't go wrong, I have read a number of this Author's books, and have enjoyed reading all of them. If you like reading Westerns then you will be glad you bought this book.
having never read this of this author I am impressed.having traveled a good amount,I now know what is in perhaps one of the out of the way places.when the end of the rope is never,people will do what is necessary to survive.good does not always win but evil knows it was there.
This was my eleventh book in the O'Brien series, and my fifteenth book written by Ben Bridges. I have very much enjoyed all of them. This story has a very sad ending, very much different from all the others. I am anxious to begin the next story in the O'Brien series.
